Charles Dana Gibson

Charles Dana Gibson popped up in one of the 1903 issues of Jugend as C.D. Gibson, but I knew who it was instantly because of his style.  Gibson is most famous for his fashion illustrations, which gave rise to the Gibson Girl aesthetic.  One of the models for the Gibson Girl was a very young Evelyn Nesbit, who deserves her own post on this blog, which we’ll get to in time.  For now, here is a drawing of a little girl, and she definitely has that trademark Gibson look.
